ABOUT THE MIELE GUIDE

The Miele Guide is Asia’s first truly independent regional restaurant guide launched in 2008, and also its most authoritative—it does not accept free meals or advertising from restaurants. Written by food lovers who know and love Asia, The Miele Guide evaluates restaurants in 16 Asian countries—Brunei, Cambodia, China (including Hong Kong and Macau), India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. The Guide will rank and profile restaurants across the region’s major cities, categorised by country, city and cuisine, in a slim, indispensable volume.

In conjunction with the launch of The Miele Guide, The Miele – At-Sunrice WSQ culinary scholarships will be awarded to two deserving young talents from Asia through The Miele Guide Culinary Scholarship Programme. This programme aims to promote formal culinary education and to encourage excellence and continual achievement in the Asian culinary field.

One will be awarded to a citizen or permanent resident of one of the following countries - Brunei, Cambodia, China (including Hong Kong and Macau), India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. The other will be awarded to a citizen or permanent resident of Singapore.

Organised and administered by Ate Media, The Miele Guide Culinary Scholarship Programme is jointly sponsored by Miele, At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy (At-Sunrice) and supported by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA). The results will be revealed at the official launch of The Miele Guide 2011/12 edition late October 2011. The scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to attend courses at the renowned Singaporean educational institution—At-Sunrice.
